Digital signage systems usually contain a content delivery system (a server) and a field player and display system. On the server side, because of the industrial nature of the application, the system would benefit from the reliability and performance of a Mainstream Enterprise drive, or possibly an AV class drive if the data was all AV, as digital signage systems often are. On the player side, the system is usually delivering AV, so an AV-class drive would be the drive designed for the job. There are 2.5” AV drives designed specifically for AV playback and recording for these systems.
